It goes without saying that 2020 was a year unlike any other, but for our team at the IDCO Studio, it was also a year that was busier than ever. Our studio team had the privilege of working alongside design clients across the country, with projects ranging from Web Design to Custom Branding to Copywriting to Instagram Management, and so much more. In a year that affected so many small businesses for the worse, the opportunity to continue doing the work we love is certainly not lost on us. To each one of our clients: thank you for entrusting us with your brands, and allowing us to bring our expertise to the table.
As we tie up all the loose ends from 2020, we’re dedicating today’s post to a look back at the projects that shaped our year in the very best way. And if you’re interested in working together in 2021, shoot us an inquiry, and let’s get started.
We had the absolute honor of designing Leclair Decor’s new website using our Custom Website Design, Blog Migration, and SEO Optimization services. This was a unique project for our team because Leclair Decor is such an established brand. They raised the challenge to elevate their existing website while ensuring it felt cohesive to their shop. The goal was to give their website a total facelift while maintaining a strong sense of brand recognition, and we were to achieve exactly that.
Interior Design: Caitlin Flemming
As followers of Sacramento Street and Caitlin’s design work for over a decade, this project came as such an honor! Caitlin was looking to elevate her DIY website from years ago to appeal to the high caliber of clients she regularly works with. Rather than two separate websites (one for design services and one for her lifestyle blog) she wanted one new custom designed website to host both. For this project, we manually transferred over 600 blog posts (thank you, BRENNA!), and the result was an entirely bespoke website that seamlessly incorporates her design work, service offerings, book, blog, and affiliate shop.
Britt Design Studio is one of those designers whose incredible work always speaks for itself. She recently launched her version of e-design, The Britt Box, which features a seasonal accessories box all hand- curated by Andrea & the Britt Design Team. We worked with her team on Website Design + Development, Branding, Custom Copywriting, and Instagram Management. Mark our words: this NYC designer is definitely one to watch.
Gail Davis Design has been a mainstay in the design industry for over a decade, and we were so honored to work with her this year. Gail initially reached out to IDCO Studio with a few website questions, which eventually led to a full Website Design. Since then, we’ve also helped Gail develop blog content and drive web traffic to her amazing Design Perspectives podcast. Gail is always such a joy to partner with, and it’s been exciting to see the hundreds of new website subscribers she’s added since we began working together.
We worked with Hudson Cooper Design on Custom Branding + Website Design, and it was one of our most seamless projects to date because Julie trusted our team entirely! She really wanted to focus on historic properties and renovations, all while bringing her Brooklyn roots to her new Charleston home. Julie’s branding, tagline, and copy all help evoke those handsome elements, and we absolutely love the responsive design of her site. It was such a joy to bring Julie’s well-traveled, meticulously edited style to life, and we can’t wait to see all her design project reveals in the years to come.
Our team had the privilege of developing Custom Branding for Chicago-based artist and interior designer, Aliyah Sadaf. We worked to encompass both her art and interior design work, both of which feature organic yet sophisticated elements. The brushstrokes of her paintings inspired the sloping curves found in her timeless new logo, and we couldn’t love it more.
Our team was so thrilled to work with Madison Nicole Designs on a Full Branding + Website Design package, including custom copywriting for her website. Madison’s signature relaxed and balanced style had a significant influence on her icon mark in her branding, referencing the Santa Barbara shoreline. Additionally, we created and paired hand-drawn elements with the serif font in her branding to evoke a more noteworthy and customized feel.
Kerry of Graham Hill Design was such a dream client because she really allowed us to stretch ourselves creatively. For Kerry’s branding, we wanted something that brought her fun Santa Cruz vibe to her Silicon Valley clients, so we pulled inspiration from mid-century Italian typography, added a little funk, and ended up with something completely unique.
Along with Custom Branding, Kerry selected one of our website templates, The Evian, and added our implementation and copywriting services. Kerry was also one of our first Design Camp attendees, and she’s also gone on to work with our beloved photographer, Madeline Harper, to document her own projects. It makes us so happy to see our clients and colleagues come together from all over the country!
We were so thrilled to work with Lauren of Well x Design on her new Custom Branding. Inspired by the ancient Indian technique of block printing textile, we created a bespoke branding suite that evokes a modern heritage that beautifully compliments her signature style. She also added our Sienna website template with implementation + copywriting services. This was a special project too, because we collaborated with Swell Press, who brought all of Lauren’s print materials to life with her beautiful letterpress work.
We love following the work of landscape designers just as much as interior designers, so partnering with Laura of Secret Garden was such a dream. We first met Laura at The Haven Workshop back in 2019, and we worked with her on a Custom Branding project this year. Laura wanted something modern but also nostalgic, as her brand name reminds people of the classic novel. Our team worked together to craft the perfect icon that resembles a garden gate made up of flora and fauna, and we can’t get enough of the final result!
Interior Design: Elliot Interiors
It was an absolute pleasure working with our 2020 IDCO Scholarship Winner, Elliot Interiors on her new Custom Website Design. Chelsey let us run wild, in the very best way, and we think it created the best possible outcome. The new Elliot Interiors is natural, inviting and approachable. The logo concept was created using the semi-serif font, and it was balanced with a sleek handwritten script to add warmth and personality. The full brand looks light and casual paired with our Elliot Website Template, and we cannot wait to see what’s in store for her business this upcoming year.
