Instagram is a place for community, a source for inspiration, it’s a source of income for us, and it’s where we choose to spend the majority of our time online. It’s also the key topic of one of our online courses for interior designers. Every year, we round up our favorite accounts to follow and it’s one of our most popular posts on the blog. This year, we rounded up the best Instagram accounts to follow in 2020. While this does not even scratch the surface of the talented and informative accounts out there, these are the accounts I most often find myself saving to reference later. Just like everything else in my life, most of these revolve around interiors. However, I looked to incorporate accounts in different industries that were every bit as inspiring. These are the best Instagram accounts to follow in 2020.
We may be slightly biased but our IDCO Website Template client, Julia Miller Interiors, has such a beautiful, warm style. Follow along for snippets of cozy, layered design infused with our favorite earthy tones + life in Minneapolis, Minnesota. But the real reason Julia makes the list is her candid, accessible approach to elevated design. She makes the impossible possible.
Bon Traveler = Wanderlust officially sparked. Jessica’s worldly travels are always focused on good design. From the Dolomites in Italy to the streets of Seville, and the stunning riads of Marrakech, our Must-Travel-To List is growing exponentially thanks to this feed. This year, Jessica is focusing on lesser-known, off the beaten path destinations and we are 100% here for it.
Granted, branding is our thing but we promise it will be your thing, too, once you set eyes on Form New York. We are constantly inspired by their posts. Follow along for logos, fonts, mood boards and visual inspiration aplenty.
I always thought I’d be the person to DIY everything, then I grew up and realized that skills like patience are involved with home projects. Not my strong suit. Jenni makes me realize that every task is possible and inspires me to try things myself before hiring it out to a contractor.
Not only does he craft insane interiors that will have you saving his entire feed but he also juggles. Jake brings a level of richness to every project while capturing it in a dreamy, moody, ethereal way.
We’re unofficially proclaiming Ann Street Studio the Most Beautiful Feed in All the Land. After moving to Provence for 1 year, she fell in love and decided to stay for a lifetime. Each post provides visions of life in Provence, portraits of her sweet babe Eloise and all are straight out of a painting. Ann’s ability to make time stand still enveloped in romance and thought makes her one of the greatest artists of our time.
Not only do we love a beautifully executed feed but we’re constantly on the hunt for inspiring interiors. Tom Mark Henry has all of that and more. One quick scroll and you’ll discover endless amounts of design inspiration all color-blocked and coordinated for your viewing pleasure.
We are visual creatures through and through and if Rainbow Plant Life can make veggies look this gorgeous, we are all in. Not only will you find vegan comfort food with presentation on point, but Nisha shares ample food photography tips. Bonus for being self-taught and making eating meat, so much more appealing.
I get emotional thinking of the impact Kannesha has had on my life. Her beautiful interiors, her gracious and educational presence in an ever white-washed industry, her thoughtful words of wisdom and willingness to hold conversations, are just so refreshing. If you don’t own it already, her book Restoration House is a must-have.
If you love layered and classic vignettes, carefully curated color palettes and textural artwork, this is the account for you. Experiencing Josh’s posts is like being invited in to the home abroad of your dreams, being served fresh squeezed orange juice and croissants, while scouring stacks of thoughtfully collected art books with your best friend.
We just adore every single thing Mindy Gayer designs. Her feed is forever at the top of our favorites list because she so effortlessly blends styles to craft spaces that feel layered and established, even when they are brand new.
Come for the goats (Butternut is our favorite) and stay for the snippets of farmhouse living on Boxwood Avenue. Chloe is such a lovely human inside and out and her feed promises to bring inspiration both of the interior design and ranch life kind. Our whole team had the pleasure of hanging with Chloe at The Haven Workshop last fall and our fan girling quickly escalated to a deep love and admiration for her.
Because we are extra like that and had such a hard time narrowing things down, here are a whole handful of grams equally as worthy of checking out.
