Over at IDCO Studio, we’re incredibly proud to provide bespoke branding materials for interior designers in the shop, with new templates and products launching on a regular basis. But we also invest so much into our custom branding projects, whether that involves creative direction, website design, brand identity elements, or all of the above. We love pouring into every phase of the design process and working alongside our incredible clients to bring their vision to life.
Today, we’re giving you a behind the scenes look at our design process with The Wayback, a casual boutique hotel in Austin, Texas. You might recognize The Wayback as the backdrop of Design Camp, and it just so happens to be one of our favorite places in the world.

In this phase of the process, we really take the time to get to know our clients. We want to know everything from why they started their business to an overview of their dream clients to their biggest inspirations and aspirations for the future. Once we developed a thorough understanding of The Wayback, we crafted their Creative Direction Presentation complete with their brand tone, target audience and inspiration board.
Surrounded by mature trees and rolling hills, inspiration for The Wayback’s branding came together so magically. With expertly designed cottages, dreamy views and laid-back luxury, The Wayback leans into its’ Texas roots and the mood board tastefully reflects that.

This particular project involved both custom website design and development, and a top-to-bottom rebrand. We were so honored The Wayback team entrusted us with this undertaking and we are so in love with the end result.
The final brand deliverables for The Wayback included a primary and secondary logo, alternative logo mark, icons, typography, custom patterns, illustrations and a hand-selected color palette. Each individual element is purposeful and beautiful, but when layered together, they tell a story that is truly unique and an intentional representation of The Wayback.
