IDCO’s Favorites for the Month of July

Our world has felt rather heavy the past several months, and sometimes it’s the little things that get you through. Sometimes it’s a beautiful styling piece or a newly discovered brand or an impactful book that helps shape your point of view. This month, our favorites round-up includes all of the above. I didn’t know I could love an air purifier on this level, but then Molekule Air came into my life. Since having it in our home, I’ve noticed a massive difference in our air quality, and we love that their products are good for the environment. They also offer a 30-day home trial in case you’re on the fence.

Tshaj Pillow Covers

We were recently introduced to this small Etsy maker via Julia Miller and have been obsessed ever since. These pillow covers are made in Thailand and feature the prettiest tones and patterns — many with a Southeast Asian influence. It’s hard to pinpoint a single favorite, but this Hmong Batik pattern is high up on the list.

Clare Paint

You might remember that we used Clare Paint in our kitchen remodel on both the cabinets and shiplap. Since then, I’ve become a big fan of their eco-friendly product line. And the fact that Clare a Black female-owned business means I’m a loyal client for life.

Farmhouse Pottery Silo Mug

Our team member Erin has been eyeing these Anthro mugs for quite some time, and it’s not hard to see why. They’re handcrafted in Vermont by Farmhouse Pottery and totally look the part.

Amy Lauren Studio

To be clear, virtually everything on Amy Lauren Studio’s site is currently sold out, but we’ve loved casually stalking her art on social media in the meantime. Once her abstracts are back in stock, you better believe we’ll be first in line.

We’re always happily surprised by our home finds on Urban Outfitters, including this boho-modern piece. Whether you style this stool indoors or out, it’s guaranteed to add texture and style to virtually any space.

This historical fiction novel follows two half-sisters living in eighteenth-century Ghana who’ve been separated by circumstance and slavery. Author, Yaa Gyasi tells a story spanning eight generations, and it’s one of the most important reads we’ve recently come across.

An American Marriage

Written by Tayari Jones, An American Marriage tells the story of a newlywed couple who’s faced with unimaginable tragedy within the criminal justice system. Several of us on the team have read this one, and it’s virtually impossible to put down.

The Morning Show

Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Anniston, and Steve Carrell team up for this drama series, and it’s binge-watching perfection. Find it on Apple TV and you’ll be instantly hooked.

Black Girl Baking

We discovered Jerrelle Guy through our IDCO Weekly Menu posts, and have loved following her work. If sweets are your thing, Black Girl Baking deserves a permanent spot in your cookbook collection.
