It’s finally time for to show you guys the rest of our home tour! Earlier this summer, we partnered up with Raena Interiors to utilize her e-design services in our 90 year old Austin bungalow. Since it’s a rental, we were limited in what updates we’re allowed to make. Additionally, we were hesitant to invest too much in upgrades we couldn’t take with us. Working with an interior designer made the process so easy and the results are better than we ever imagined.
When we started, we had a messy collection of Craig’s List finds, college hand me downs, and impulse Target buys. The walls were a cloud blue and the hideous ceiling tiles were complemented by an even uglier ceiling fan/light combo. (Scroll to the bottom for the before pictures)
There were a few pieces I couldn’t part with, like a $40 flat file and my grandma’s basket from Paris. We packed those into storage for a future home and let Raena take the lead. The results are bright, modern, simple and so much more efficient.
Scroll down for the reveal, plus the kitchen tour. Here is what we selected and why we love it.
sectional sofa (on major sale!), marble coffee table (in brass too), console table, media cabinet, white storage box (sold out, similar), green faceted vase, geometric lamp (on sale!), hanging planter (similar), wall hooks, marble tray, geometric vase, dried palm fronds, key dish, flowers, pillows, pillows, pillows and more pillows, black and white portrait, nude, nude, Golden Gate print, and The Marina
table, chairs, bench, rug, pillows, pillow, frames, woven tray, vase, white colanders, black canisters, wood spoons, wood clock, marble tray, soap dispensers, marble planter, hand towels
Before starting this design project with Raena Interiors, I thought I had a good eye and didn’t need a professional designer. Raena couldn’t have proved me more wrong. Simple things like space planning, measurements, and the correct height to hang art are just things you need a professional’s help with.
After I provided her with a simple mood board and filling out her design questionnaire, she sourced every piece in our home, and presented options at varying price points. Quinn and I were then able to prioritize pieces that were most important to us, and save on things we were flexible on.
Moral of the story? You don’t need a traditional interior designer to have help revamping your space. Raena’s e-design services are an extraordinary option for a flexible budget. It finally feels like an adult space. It’s so much more functional and feels polished and put together, everywhere we look.
A huge thank you to Raena Interiors, McGee and Co., Bouqs, and The Southern Loom for partnering on this home tour project.

Gah, all the heart eyes! Such a wonderful job!
Best accessory: Kennedy (no longer available) – Priceless.
IT is simply lovely!
Thank you so much Dominique!
So gorgeous! You have fabulous taste. What’s the wall colour?
Thank you! It’s Benjamin Moore Super White
Love the couch! Do you recommend for someone with pets? I see you have a pup.
Where’s the beautiful rug in the living room from?
Hey Ashley! It’s from World Market – linked here! Since moving to the new house (you can see the tour here), I’ve bought 6 more. HONESTLY – 6! It’s the perfect color to lighten and brighten a room (our carpet upstairs is darker than I would have liked). And it’s so affordable!
Hi absolutely love this sofa. Are you able to tell me the measurements in cms. I’m from a Australia and want to see if I can get it shipped over here.
Hey there Renata! If you haven’t purchased it already – IT’S ON HUGE SALE TODAY! Less than $1,000 USD. The dimensions listed are in inches, but you could convert them to CM!
Total approx. dimensions: 113”W x 86”D x 33”H (it splits in two parts)
Chaise approx. dimensions: 39”W x 86”D x 33”H
Sofa approx. dimensions: 74”W x 38”D x 33”H
Hope that helps! We LOVE it so much!
Beautiful! Where are the white curtains from?
I have a question. This is one of my contender sofas I’m considering on purchasing. I read all the Macy’s online reviews but I don’t see any one mentioning the chaise. My question is if you take off the pillows on the chase how much room do you have to relaxer on the chaise part? I love this sofa but want to lay down on the chaise part. Thank you. Jennifer
Hey Jennifer! Great question! So the chaise is quite long. I’m 5’10 and can lay completely flat on it with the back cushion + a throw pillow on it. If you remove both back cushions, it’s almost the size of a twin bed! Hope that helps – we’ve been VERY pleased with it for years now.
Hi! The one thing I am dying to find is your rug with the navy blue couch. It was the one thing you did not link HAHA do you happen to know where it’s from? If so, please share I am dying to buy one just like it.
