Orange is typically a color people avoid in design – it’s legit the red headed step child. But lately I’ve been finding so much inspiration from muted, cognac versions of the color that it’s popping up in everything I create. For today’s Friday Five, I’m listing five ways orange is creeping into my life this fall.
The combination of a late summer tan an orange / nude lip is so flattering right now. For a matte, saturated version, this one looks like a million bucks and feels like cashmere on your face.
The orange hues of cognac leather make my heart stop. It’s the perfect combination of modern and vintage, and instantly looks perfectly worn in. This sofa is work selling a limb for, but I love it in smaller spurts for fall, too. Try grabbing this bag, these boots, or these pillows to add some soft orange into your life this fall.
Nothing feels more sophisticated or luxe than this stunning branding suite using a deep harvest orange. The combination of the thin serif font, generous spacing, and textural paper adds so much to the design. This is quite literally one of those pieces that you shove in your purse to take with you, in hopes no one will notice. If anyone knows the designer – please comment below. I’m sure I’d love all of their work. [ update – I FOUND THE DESIGNER! And even better – it’s a gorgeous template from Hands on Everyday – called Billie Stationery!!! !!!]
Obsessed with this color combo from Cocorrina, and as always, her lettering is on point. The mustardy hue combines with a mauvy pink is completely lust worthy. Her blog post is equally inspiring – inviting us all to say more “yes” and less “no” out loud, and in the way we live.
This haircut has completely taken over Pinterest, but it’s giving me all the hair inspiration I need. My mane has gotten pretty wild again, and I’m due for another Japanese straightening treatment. In the meantime, I’m going to hack a few inches off for this chic blunt cut and add some golden tones to my highlights. All. The. Hair. Goals. I’ll keep you posted on the outcome.
