Sometimes it’s hard to pick a favorite and that sentiment rings ever so true with color trends. On one end of the spectrum, we are seeing an influx of soft, muted pastels. Now flip that color wheel and you get a rise in ultra dark, saturated hues. These trending colors are a study in contrasts and every last one is gorgeous. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite examples below. Scroll through to see design moments that range from barely there pastels to moody and dramatic hues.
If the idea of color scares you, this trend towards the lighter side is pure perfection. Think muted shades that almost, almost pass as neutrals. We’re seeing this palette in everything from accessories and furniture to painted cabinetry and doors – a personal favorite. The result is light and serene spaces infused with low-key pastels.

Also trending in the color department is a genre that is the polar opposite of light and airy. This category is all about dark saturated hues. We are talking a palette of cool tones like Inky Blues, Deep Green, Matte Black, etc. that are serving up some serious moody vibes. They prove a stunning choice for a wide range of applications from whole room color to built-in cabinetry and millwork.

It’s safe to say we’ve got a color crush or two. How about you? Are you going dark or sticking with a lighter color palette? We also love a combination of saturated and muted color, as seen in the bedroom below.
