Back by popular demand (refer back to this post to see what I’m talking about) – Friday Five is here! Despite it being 100 degrees in Austin right now, my brain is winding down for summer and I’m so ready to be transitioning to fall. From my wardrobe, to my house, to my haircare… I’m ready for cooler evenings.
For today’s Friday Five, I’ve rounded up my favorite five pins of the week to help you start transitioning to fall. The perfect way to do that? Add some inky hues back into your summery whites.
Since Raena turned me into a full-fledge plant lady this summer, I apparently want to hang everything beautiful from the ceiling. This metallic hanging sculpture is one of my favorite pieces of art. The combination of yellow and rose gold, paired with the rich black is so striking, and exactly why I love Pinterest. You can contact Ladies and Gentleman Studio to have one commissioned, or shop their dreamy store (with smaller gems) here. I’m thinking for fall, I’ll swap some of my hanging plants for a shiny mobile – and I’m loving this textural version SO MUCH.
If you’ve already been following us on Pinterest, you have probably noticed that all I do all day is pin line drawings – usually of the female body. This version from Frédéric Forest, named “Woman waiting – Etude -Flowers, Etude”stopped me in my tracks. As I get older, my aesthetic quickly becomes more and more minimal, and this abstraction of the human form is just perfection. Make sure to follow Frédéric on Instagram here. I just ordered a few to do a little gallery of like this one, this one and this one.
It’s not a secret that I wear head to toe white year round – but this updated version with a black boyfriend blazer over white jeans and a tee is perfect for transitioning to fall. I never take these white jeans off (on major sale or plus size), this perfect white tee in all sizes, and I’m eyeing this, this, this and this blazer for fall.
One thing I have NOT tired of is naturally wavy pool hair – and Herbivore sent me their Sea Mist to try recently, and I’m never going to live without it. Keep your beachy summer waves rockin’ as long as you can and grab your Sea Mist here. Why does this make it to my top Pins list? Because the branding is just that good… I repin every Herbivore image I come across. Look at that lighting though!
The last gift my grandmother gave me before she passed away was a beautiful black four poster bed for our wedding. At the time, it seemed like such an extravagant gift (which it was), but I didn’t consider what a perfectly sentimental gift it was. Aside from my computer, there is nothing I spend more time with in a day. Going to sleep in our four poster is like getting a big hug from gma every night. Ours is no longer available (you’ll see it on a home tour soon), but this one and this one are equally dreamy and this one is on sale.
It’s also the perfect bed to style year round and I’m so excited we’re going to begin transitioning to fall soon.
When I saw this pin, I was immediately reminded of just how gorgeous black accents in a bright bedroom can be. Don’t miss the full home tour on Architectural Digest – it’s pretty spectacular.
Thanks for asking for this series back – it’s a lovely way to wind down a busy week. Ready for a little more fall inspiration? Take a look at our mossy green roundup here.
