For our team at IDCO Studio, uncovering the most inspiring interiors is all a part of the job. We consider ourselves unbelievably lucky to work in this industry, and naturally, we’ve pinpointed a few designers who stand out as our personal favorites. A few weeks ago, our Slack channel was abuzz when someone posed the question of our dream interior designers to work with based on their signature style. One by one, each member of our team shared the studio they’d hire in a heartbeat should the opportunity ever present itself.
We’ve compiled the results to help inspire your workday and hopefully, put some new names on your radar. But please keep in mind that this list is by no means exhaustive. Our collective line-up of dream interior designers runs a mile long, and we’re only scratching the surface.
Design: Jake Arnold | Photography: Michael Clifford
No one reimagines a space quite like Jake Arnold. His work is an absolute masterclass in subdued drama, with a distinctly European-meets-California influence.
Design: Sean Anderson | Photography: Haris Kenjar
Presenting a casual, collected aesthetic, Sean Anderson’s portfolio is a true reflection of his craftsmanship and attention to curated detail. Rich textures, earthy tones, and natural materials inform his multi-layered approach to interiors, but it’s his ability to incorporate soulful narrative that excites me most!
Design: Heidi Caillier Design | Photography: Haris Kenjar
Each piece of Heidi’s work feels intentional and collected over time. It always stops me in my tracks. I love how she layers color and pattern so effortlessly while creating a space that exudes warmth. Her mission of designing comfortable and livable environments that are also beautiful and well-curated is something I strive for in every corner of my own home, too.
Design: Stephanie Sabble
Stephanie uses color and pattern in a way that I am never brave enough to do on my own. Her spaces feel layered, comfortable, and intentional, but never overly-designed or heavy-handed.
Design: Leanne Ford | Photography: Amy Neunsinger
Leanne continually stays true to herself with her love of white everything with vintage accents and natural textures. However, with every project she makes calculated shifts which transform her neutral foundation to communicate her client’s aesthetic perfectly.
Design: Meta Coleman | Photo via The House That Built Lars
I came across Meta Coleman when Hannah Carpenter worked with her to redecorate her home. I love her bold and playful use of color and pattern that she grounds with wood tones, vintage pieces, and organic textures. Her work is lived-in, personal, and completely unexpected.
Design: Kate Marker Interiors | Photography: Margaret Rajic
Kate’s mix of old and new is so inspiring. I love the layered and eclectic feel she brings to each of her spaces.
Design: Katie Hodges Design | Photography: Jenna Peffley
Katie Hodges uses textures, layers, and colors in a way that’s elevated yet approachable and modern yet timeless. Each space she touches feels like a breath of fresh air with a calming sensibility down to the last detail. I particularly love her work in Emily Schuman’s home, but quite honestly, I’d be happy living in any scene from her Instagram feed.
Design: Marianne Brown of W Design Collective | Photography: Lucy Call
I really love old homes though I also have a deep appreciation of functional family living. W Design Collective marries the two beautifully by creating soothing yet livable spaces for modern families. Their rooms perfectly balance light and dark to create calming yet interesting environments.
Design: Lauren Liess | Photography: Helen Norman
I love how Lauren Liess embraces antique and vintage finds. Her spaces always look intentionally welcoming and well-loved.
Design: Romanek Design Studio | Photography: Douglas Friedman
Brigette’s artful curation of so many pieces that tell individual stories baffles me. I want to touch everything and see every angle of every space they create. It’s so magical.
